From September 9 to September 22, 2024, you may notice a slight change in your tap water. Here’s what you need to know:
What’s Happening?
· The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department is conducting its annual chlorine treatment.
· This is a routine process that’s been happening since 1983.
What You Might Notice:
· Your water might taste or smell slightly like chlorine.
· You may see WASD vehicles flushing fire hydrants in your area.
Key Points to Remember:
- ✅ Your water is completely safe to drink and use as normal.
- 🕒 This is temporary – only for two weeks.
- 🧪 The change in taste/smell is normal and not harmful.
- 🐾 It’s safe for pets too (except for tropical fish – see note below).
Special Considerations:
· If you have tropical fish or use water for medical treatments (like dialysis), please consult a professional about removing chlorine from your water during this time.
