The building was constructed in 1960 and failed its 60-year recertification.
Miami-Dade authorities have declared a condominium building in North Bay Village unsafe, prompting an urgent evacuation notice to residents, according to Local 10 News.
The property, known as Majestic Isle Condominiums, is located at 7946 East Drive, by the waterfront on Harbour Island. Records show it was built in 1960.
The engineer responsible for the building’s 60-year recertification inspection discovered sunken floors and termite damage, raising serious concerns about the current condition of the structure.

Adding to the issues, a recent roof drain leak caused a partial collapse last week, leading to the evacuation of residents from five units.
City spokesperson Julie Leonardi stated that North Bay Village officials were informed of the problems in a letter sent Wednesday night, officially deeming the building structurally unsafe.
The site contains 36 units housing 55 residents. However, due to last week’s flooding and the partial roof collapse, only 31 units are currently occupied.
Residents will be allowed to return at a later date to retrieve their belongings. The North Bay Village Police Department will oversee the move-out process in phases, allowing only a few units per day with light loads.
This building, reminiscent of Champlain Towers South, also showed signs of damage that were not properly addressed, eventually leading to a partial collapse during the night of June 24, 2021.
